Build a Base RNG Weapons Guide

Identify currently documented Build a Base RNG weapons, place ranged damage behind useful coverage, compare roles, and verify Tsunami weapon leads without fake stats.

Weapons are the automatic damage side of a Build a Base RNG layout. Current walkthroughs document Cross Bow, Basic Cannon, Wooden Mortar, Stone Mortar, Catapult, and Wooden Tesla as weapon names. Treat those names as Community reported and read every live stat before comparing them: no damage, range, attack speed, upgrade cost, or roll chance is frozen on this page.

The official Tsunami description also confirms that the event can provide new weapons, but it does not name them. Event-title leads remain in a verification queue until the in-game inventory establishes their exact identity and source.

Build a weapon baseline

Place one documented weapon where it can attack the approach while a block or trap handles first contact. Keep the rest of the layout fixed and run a wave you already understand. Record when the weapon begins contributing, when it stops, and what kind of enemy survives its zone.

Do not compare final wave alone. A weapon may remove early groups but add little against a durable target, or it may pressure one target while letting groups pass. The first surviving enemy and first uncovered lane segment reveal its job more clearly than rarity color.

Use Basic Cannon or Cross Bow as a named baseline only when you actually own one and can read its panel. Their presence in a guide does not guarantee that every account sees the same roll pool or upgrade state.

Currently documented weapon names

Community reported

Cross Bow

Documented as a weapon in current Build Mode coverage. Protect it behind contact pieces, then record target choice, range, and uptime from the live run.

Basic Cannon

Useful as a repeatable owned-weapon baseline. Compare one upgrade or position at a time rather than importing a copied damage table.

Wooden and Stone Mortar

Current guides group both under weapons and describe mortars as group-pressure tools. Verify splash behavior, range, and target pattern in your server.

Catapult

A documented weapon name that should be tested from a protected position. Do not assume its projectile, area, or upgrade curve from the name.

Wooden Tesla

A documented rarer-looking weapon name. Confirm how it attacks and whether its contribution fits groups, durable targets, or cleanup.

Place weapons by uptime

Front placement can start damage early but may expose a weapon when barriers fail. Middle placement often gains protection and a longer controlled engagement, but only if its range reaches the approach. Cleanup placement is valuable when survivors consistently reach the final layer; it is wasteful when the weapon never fires.

Trace the lane and use the live range indicator, if available. A protected weapon should contribute while enemies are delayed by blocks or traps. If it spends most of the run idle, move it before upgrading. If it is destroyed before its main targets arrive, add protection or relocate it rather than assuming low rarity is the only problem.

For a boss baseline, distribute sustained pressure across more than one lane segment so one attack or breach does not silence everything. The Boss Layout guide covers that setup without inventing a required DPS threshold.

Compare two weapons fairly

Save the layout, use the same wave, and replace only one weapon. Keep its upgrade level and surrounding protection as comparable as the game allows. Record the first enemy type that survives, the lane point where pressure drops, and whether the core fails earlier or later.

When the second weapon has a different job, do not force a single winner. A mortar-like group tool and a focused weapon can both be best in different layers. Put the result into the goal-based tier list under the situation it actually improved.

If a variant, mutation, shiny state, or event version appears, treat it as a separate observed result until the live panel explains the relationship. Do not apply the base item’s assumed odds or stats to it.

Tsunami weapons

The official description confirms new event weapons but no names. Recent video titles mention Haku Turret and Tsunami guns; that is enough to search the live event, not enough to publish acquisition or power claims.

For each event weapon, record the exact display name, event screen, reward source, item family, rarity or odds wording, and whether it remains usable outside the event. Then test one placement on the same normal wave. A video showcase may demonstrate appearance, but this page will not copy its drop rate, damage, or “best weapon” verdict without independent support.

Weapon mistakes and FAQ

  • Stacking every weapon at one contact point leaves no pressure after a breach.
  • Upgrading an idle weapon does not fix missing range or target access.
  • Calling a mortar universally best ignores durable-target and cleanup needs.
  • Replacing a working baseline without saving its position removes the comparison.
  • Treating an update-title weapon as verified can import the wrong name or version.

Which weapon should beginners use?

Use any owned weapon that contributes from behind a stable contact layer. Basic Cannon and Cross Bow are currently documented names, not guaranteed starter rolls.

Are mortars the best weapons?

Current guides describe mortars as useful group-pressure candidates. Their value depends on live range, behavior, upgrades, and whether groups are the actual failure.

Is Haku Turret confirmed?

It is a current community/video-title lead, not a verified index entry. Confirm the exact in-game name and source before relying on it.

Where can I see roll odds?

Use the live roll or Index panel and the Rarities & Odds guide. Third-party values are not repeated as settled facts.

Evidence checked 2026-08-05: official Tsunami wording plus current detailed item coverage from AllThings. How, with role corroboration from RobloxCalc and current layout guides. Entity stats and event acquisition remain Needs in-game testing.
