A boss layout must keep damage active against one durable target while surviving the normal pressure that reaches it. Use several protected positions, preserve front and middle contact, and keep final cleanup. Do not stack every strong weapon into one zone that a breach or custom attack can disable.
Bosses with custom attacks, relic rewards, and crafting were advertised in a recent official description snapshot. The current public description now promotes Tsunami, so confirm the Boss Waves entry and current rules before rebuilding or farming.
Build a boss baseline
Use the normal layout that reaches the boss consistently. Save it before making changes. On the first boss attempt, record where the boss enters useful pressure, which block or object fails first, where damage stops, and how far the boss travels.
The first attempt is diagnostic. Do not assume a required DPS or HP threshold from a third-party table. Keep the wave, upgrades, and surrounding layout stable for the next comparison.
Distribute sustained pressure
Place boss-oriented weapons so more than one layer can attack over time. A front position begins early damage, a protected middle position continues after contact breaks, and cleanup pressures the final segment. Use live range indicators and actual target behavior.
Keep group-pressure tools for the enemies before or around the boss. Removing every trap or group weapon can make the base fail before the comparison begins. Replace only one role after identifying whether the problem is groups, durability, target uptime, or final cleanup.
Front chip
Begin pressure without exposing every important weapon at first contact.
Main boss zone
Hold the target inside several protected sources of sustained damage.
Final cleanup
Catch the surviving boss or remaining enemies after the main zone breaks.
Adapt to an observed attack
The old official promotion says bosses have custom attacks, but no complete attack list was verified. Observe the live cue, affected area, and consequence. If an attack removes one cluster, spread important roles. If it breaks front barriers, add middle contact. If it interrupts or disables contribution, preserve a second source elsewhere.
Change one placement and repeat. Do not name an attack or publish a fixed counter until the in-game label and behavior are captured under the current version. The separate Boss Attacks article remains deferred for this reason.
Compare boss items fairly
Test one weapon or block replacement with the same boss route. Record distance traveled under pressure, first destroyed layer, and whether group waves still clear. A weapon that looks stronger but contributes for less time may not improve the boss result.
Use the Item Tier List under the durable-target goal, not as a universal order. Use Relics only after a successful current drop establishes the source.
Boss-layout recovery
If the boss survives with normal enemies controlled, add sustained pressure or extend contact. If normal groups overwhelm the setup, restore group control before adding more boss damage. If one custom action causes collapse, spread roles rather than only increasing one block’s health.
If results vary between servers, preserve the current event and Boss Waves state in your record. The switch from Bosses promotion to Tsunami can make older screenshots version-misaligned.
Boss layout FAQ
What is the best boss base?
One with repeatable entry, distributed sustained pressure, protected middle contribution, and cleanup. Exact coordinates depend on owned items and live range.
How much damage or health do I need?
No verified universal threshold is published here. Use the same boss baseline and compare where the failure moves.
Should I remove traps for boss damage?
Only when normal groups still clear and the trap no longer contributes. Preserve the route leading to the boss.
Are bosses still available during Tsunami?
The current public description does not answer that. Check the live mode and update panels before committing a farm.
