The best upgrade is the smallest purchase that moves a repeated failure. Current guides name Luck, Auto Roll, faster rolls, gold rolls, friend-related Luck, object upgrades, and placement or capacity improvements. Their exact costs and prerequisites vary by source and can change, so use the live Skill Tree and item panels.
Choose between layout, object power, acquisition, and capacity before choosing a node.
Upgrade layout before a stat
If enemies pass through uncovered space or a weapon remains idle, move the item first. A free placement correction can outperform an expensive damage or Luck upgrade. Save the baseline and retest the same wave.
Only buy a stat after the item contributes in the weak zone. Do not upgrade an object that never fires, a trap enemies miss, or a block that holds enemies outside pressure.
Upgrade durability or damage
Choose durability when a contributing barrier breaks just before nearby pressure finishes the wave. Choose weapon or trap power when enemies remain covered but healthy. Keep upgrade levels and positions in the record so a later comparison is fair.
Upgrade one owned contributor to a meaningful live breakpoint rather than distributing coins across every item. Stop when the original failure moves or another layer becomes the new bottleneck.
Upgrade rolling and Luck
Use rolling speed or Auto Roll when repeated clicking limits option flow and the base is stable enough to review results. Use Luck when better future options are the tested bottleneck. Record the visible effect; do not assume a direct odds multiplier.
Current sources often recommend early Luck and Auto Roll, but a universal order hides account differences. A base with empty coverage needs placement. A stable base with few options can justify acquisition improvements.
Upgrade capacity and Index value
Placement capacity is useful when every existing slot has a contributing job and another role is missing. More slots do not help when current items are idle or stacked in one zone. Read the live node effect and determine whether it adds placement, inventory, or another capacity before buying.
Claim visible Index rewards before a major purchase. If an Index entry grants coins, Luck, or another effect, record whether it applies automatically or after claim. Do not sell an essential item merely to fill a missing entry.
Keep a purchase reserve
Do not spend the full coin balance merely because a node is available. Hold enough for the current item’s next useful upgrade, an update-driven correction, or a verified crafting requirement. The current Tsunami event advertises new weapons, and the earlier Bosses promotion linked relics with crafted objects; either can change priorities after a live check.
Record the before-and-after Skill level, cost, and result. If the purchase does not affect the selected baseline, stop that branch and diagnose again.
Upgrades FAQ
What should I buy first?
Fix free placement errors, then upgrade the contributor tied to the first repeated failure. Consider Luck or Auto Roll once the base is stable.
Are Luck I and Auto Roll the best opening order?
Several current guides recommend them, but the exact order and cost are Community reported. Confirm the live tree and your actual bottleneck.
Should I spread upgrades across items?
Usually complete one tested role before starting another. Wide spending can leave every layer below the needed breakpoint.
Are skill costs listed here?
No. Use the live panel because current public numbers are update-sensitive and not authoritative.
