Build a Base RNG Wave Layouts

Adapt a Build a Base RNG layout for normal groups, durable enemies, edge breaches, and changing waves by preserving one baseline and moving the first failure.

Wave layouts should change when enemy pressure changes, not at an arbitrary copied wave number. Keep a front, middle, and cleanup baseline, run the same target wave, and record the first group, durable enemy, edge, or lane segment that defeats useful coverage. Then change one role.

No public first-party table defines universal wave thresholds, HP, rewards, or required items. Use the live wave label and your current base as the experiment.

Establish a target-wave baseline

Choose the highest wave you reach consistently, not the highest ever seen. Save the layout and record when front contact begins, which barrier fails first, where groups leave pressure, and whether cleanup contributes. Repeat once to make sure the failure is not a one-off target or trigger variation.

Do not upgrade or reroll between the two baseline attempts. If the first failure changes dramatically, simplify the setup or lower the target until the behavior is readable.

Adapt for group pressure

When many normal enemies overwhelm one section, preserve contact and test a group-pressure role in that zone. Current guides describe mortars, Catapult-like weapons, and lane traps as candidates, but their current area behavior must be observed.

Keep blocks or control long enough for group damage to work. If enemies die at the front but later groups leak, distribute pressure into the middle instead of stacking another opening weapon. Retest the same wave and note whether the first surviving group moves later.

Adapt for durable enemies

When normal groups die but one enemy survives, do not remove all group control. Add or relocate sustained pressure so several protected positions can contribute along the path. Compare one weapon or upgrade at a time.

If the target reaches cleanup healthy, check whether the middle weapon was idle, outranged, or destroyed. A rare roll cannot solve missing uptime. Use the Weapons guide to build a fair comparison.

Wave symptom
Layout response
Measure
Opening group leaks
Fix first contact and protected group pressure.
First untouched tile and barrier timing.
Middle collapses
Add useful depth, not empty rows.
Whether pressure continues after front breach.
One target survives
Distribute sustained damage positions.
Distance traveled under active fire.
Edge breaks first
Reinforce the observed edge only.
Whether the break shifts without weakening center.

Decide when to add depth

Add a middle or rear layer when survivors repeatedly cross the current zone while pieces remain active. Do not add depth when the front is simply outside range or the main weapon never fires. Fix geometry first.

Move cleanup forward when it never contributes across several target-wave runs. Keep a reversible screenshot so you can restore it if the next pressure change reaches the core. A layer can be unnecessary at one wave and essential later.

Preserve income and offline stability

If the game awards coins or progress through waves, compare the visible result and completion consistency rather than publishing an hourly formula. A lower target with reliable clears can outperform repeated failures, but the exact reward curve is not public.

Before using a wave layout offline, clear it actively more than once. Record the logout state and compare one timed return separately. Use Offline Layout for the full contract.

Wave layout FAQ

What wave should beginners farm?

Use the highest wave that clears consistently and visibly advances the current goal. No universal number is verified.

When should I rebuild?

When the first repeated failure changes or a new item demonstrably fills a missing role. Preserve the old baseline.

How do I stop small-enemy leaks?

Fix contact and group pressure in the first weak zone, then rerun the same wave without changing boss-oriented cleanup.

How do I push higher waves?

Move one reproducible failure later through coverage, uptime, durability, or the relevant upgrade. Add depth only when it keeps pressure active.
