The three-layer base

Front contact

Start pressure where enemies first enter the useful area. Combine a barrier or contact tool with a weapon that can safely contribute.

Middle pressure

Catch survivors after the opening breaks. Preserve damage uptime instead of leaving a long untouched gap.

Cleanup

Reserve a final useful layer for leaks. Move it forward only after repeated tests show that nothing reaches it.

These are jobs, not coordinates. Use the live path, grid, range indicators, and item behavior to decide the exact cells. A copied camera angle cannot show hidden range, upgrade state, or whether the creator’s inventory matches yours.

Build the first baseline

Roll until you can field at least one block or trap and one weapon. Place the contact piece on the actual approach and put the weapon where it remains protected while covering that point. Add a middle piece only after the opening contribution is visible. Keep one slot or object for cleanup when the base begins to leak.

Start a wave and watch the first meaningful failure: enemies cross untouched space, a barrier breaks too soon, groups overwhelm one zone, one durable enemy survives, or the final line has no pressure. Write down the earliest event. Final wave number alone hides the cause.

Save the layout or take a clear screenshot. Move one object, replace one role, or apply one relevant upgrade. Repeat the same wave. Keep the change if the original failure moves later without opening an earlier one; otherwise restore the baseline.

Choose items by placement job

Blocks belong where they buy useful engagement time. Traps belong where enemies actually cross them. Weapons belong where their live range and target behavior let them contribute while protected. Use the Item Index to identify currently documented names, then let the layout decide whether the roll is useful.

Do not assume hidden class synergy. Current sources support role mixing as a practical test, not an official bonus. If a different-looking item improves the repeated failure, keep it for that outcome. If it remains idle, return to the previous piece even when the new roll appears rarer.

Upgrade after placement proves the role. A strong upgrade on an idle tile does not solve missing coverage. Conversely, moving a contributing weapon outside protection can erase the benefit of better stats.

Adapt for waves, bosses, and Tsunami

Normal waves reveal group flow and the first weak layer. Keep the baseline fixed long enough to identify whether pressure changes at a repeatable point. Add depth when survivors consistently leave the middle; do not add rows simply because a high-wave screenshot shows them.

Boss attempts require sustained damage and redundancy. Preserve group control for the waves leading into the boss, then distribute boss pressure so one breach or custom attack does not remove every strong object. Current boss availability and exact attacks need a live check because the public description now promotes Tsunami.

For the hourly Tsunami event, first confirm whether it uses the normal base and path. Sea enemies and new weapons are official event families, but no public route or stat table is complete. Save the normal layout before adapting, then test one event-specific change.

Make a layout safe for offline fighting

The official game description confirms that the base fights offline. It does not disclose the simulation window, cap, failure handling, or reward formula. An offline layout should therefore be the most repeatable active layout, not the most ambitious attempt.

Clear the selected baseline more than once, remove experimental pieces that cause inconsistent leaks, and record the logout state. On return, capture the time away, settlement screen, visible gains, and whether the base state changed. Compare equal windows before drawing conclusions.
